This Cookie Policy describes the cookies and similar technologies we use on CrossLetter, why we use them, and how you can manage your choices. We use analytics cookies by default; you can opt out at any time by clicking Reject in our cookie banner.

1. Essential cookies

These cookies are necessary for the site to function. We do not ask for consent for these, and they are not used for tracking or analytics.

Session / authentication – Used to keep you signed in (e.g. session cookies). First-party, session or short-lived.
Preferences – For example, sidebar or UI preferences we store so your choices persist. First-party, typically longer-lived (e.g. up to a week).

2. Analytics cookies (consent required)

We use analytics to understand how the site is used (e.g. page views, general usage patterns). We enable analytics by default. If you click "Reject" in our cookie/consent banner, we do not load analytics and we do not track your visit.

Google Analytics – Set by Google when our analytics script is loaded. Used for aggregated usage statistics. We load this by default; click "Reject" in the consent banner to opt out. If you have rejected, we do not load Google Analytics and no analytics cookies are set.

If you have clicked "Reject", we do not set any analytics cookies and we do not track your visit for analytics purposes.

3. How we remember your choice

When you click "Okay" or "Reject" in our consent banner, we store your choice in a first-party cookie (e.g. cl_cookie_consent). This lets us know whether to load analytics on your next visit. The cookie is set for a limited period (e.g. one year), after which we may show the banner again so you can choose again.

4. Managing or withdrawing consent

You can change your mind at any time:

Delete the consent cookie (cl_cookie_consent) in your browser and reload the site. The consent banner will appear again.
Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking all cookies may affect essential features (e.g. staying signed in).
